Aaand we're back! We start off the second half of our season with an interview of my good friend Charmaine Chitate.
Charmaine Chitate is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist working with computer-based media for over fifteen years. Anchored in photography and storytelling, her work is an exploration of her understanding of identity and the various forms it presents itself. In 2018, she was listed as one of the Top 20 Contemporary African Artists with ‘the potential to shape and inspire the global art scene – both now and into the future' by the FNB Joburg ArtFair. She is a member of African Women in Photography (AwP), The Comms Avenue and the Zimbabwe Association of Female Photographers (ZAFP) whilst sitting on the Academy of International Extended Reality’s Advisory Group as an Advisor for Arts & Media and VR Awards Judge - 3 years running.
