In 1997, Tiffany Coates decided to embark on an overland adventure to India with her best friend. They wanted to do it on a motorcycle, but neither of them had licenses or even knew how to ride. So they learnt. Equipped with a Haynes Manual and fearless ambition, they set off on a BMW R 80 GS named ‘Thelma’ – which they bought over the phone and unseen.
Bonkers and brave, their spontaneous adventure took them further than they had ever anticipated and Tiffany has never looked back. From Tibet to Madagascar, Africa, Borneo and Alaska, home is where ‘Thelma’ is parked and Tiffany can pitch a tent. A global adventurer with hundreds of thousands of miles on the clock, Tiffany is passionate about inspiring others to explore the world on two wheels.
