In our final episode of Season 3, Grace Alice is joined by the ever-colourful and insightful Taryn De Vere, a multidisciplinary artist, performer, writer, speaker and parent of five. Taryn shares what it was like getting open, no-nonsense sex education in Australia, and then the major culture shock she felt moving to Ireland in the late '90s. Grace and Taryn explore how to educate kids without shame, why it’s so important to use real words for our bodies, and how those early conversations about consent and pleasure can set everyone up for healthier, happier relationships.
The discussion also covers how gender and neurodiversity fit into all of this, why being present in our sexual experiences can be so incredibly powerful (it can even make you feel a bit high!), and how Irish people, in particular, might need a little nudge to ask for what they want in and out of bed.
