If I hadn’t been adopted, I would be dead: Two stories of adoption

Lucy was just a baby when she was abandoned in Hong Kong. Flown over to the UK, she was adopted by a British couple who brought her up in a middle-class, white school. Jamie was given up for adoption by his biological mother, who was not in a position to raise a child. It wasn’t until his twenties that he traced his biological parents in hopes of forming a relationship., Lucy and Jamie discuss misconceptions about adoptees, what it’s like to be a trans-racial adoptee and how attitudes towards adoption have changed over the years.
