Met Alper Çuğun praat ik uiteraard over kwaliteit. Alper heeft het over kwaliteit die contextgebonden is, en over kwaliteit die niet contextgebonden is. Een mooi onderscheid. We hebben het over de rol van techniek binnen design. En natuurlijk hebben we het ook over hard tech, de term die Alper gebruikt voor relatief nieuwe technologieën zoals chatbots, IoT, machine learning, de blockchain.
Ik probeer het altijd zo dom mogelijk te maken.
Natuurlijk gaan we wat dieper in op conversational interfaces. Alper heeft daar nu eenmaal een boek over geschreven. We hebben het bijvoorbeeld over de enorme hoeveelheid regels die je nodig hebt om zo een interface goed te laten werken. En we vragen ons af wat voor types designers je nodig hebt om die regels te ontwerpen. Verder hebben we het ook nog over diversiteit en over het verschil van niveau van design tussen Duitsland en Nederland. Onder meer. We hebben het over veel dingen gehad, en tóch ben ik nog vergeten een aanrtal dingen te vragen. Wat mij betreft spreek ik hem nog een keer.
