Maarten Kappert is creative consultant bij Mirabeau. In die hoedanigheid werkt hij aan het online succes van grotere nationale en internationale bedrijven. Naast zijn baan als consultant werkt hij ook aan het succes van de mensheid. We hebben het uiteraard over het contrast tussen die twee rollen. Zijn ze wel goed te verenigen? Werken ze elkaar soms niet tegen? Het model van Basic Human Values van Shalom H. Schwartz komt daarbij goed van pas.
… met ethiek hoef je dus niet aan te komen [bij bedrijven] want uiteindelijk worden ze afgerekend op winst, maar we zien wel dat er een verschuiving plaatsvindt aan de vraagkant, dat mensen kritischer worden.
We hebben het ook over het effect, op korte én op lange termijn, van marketingdrollen. Vasilis trapte laatst in een dampende, in de Albert Heijn. Maar we hebben het gelukkig ook over mooie dingen. Lang geleden heeft Maarten eens de briljante eerste versie van Minimalissimo bedacht, een website over minimalistisch design. Dat was een esthetiek die hem toendertijd erg aanstond. Nu iets minder. Daar praten we ook even over.
