The Harmony of Stories
Wildflower on Tour

I love stories that come out of conversation because they hold so many things all at once – memories, emotions, lessons, new perspectives, comic relief and so much more. They have the power to move us, to open our hearts, to connect us, to heal us. Stories offer a window into another person’s universe, and I get to see what it’s like to experience life from their eyes. They are an invitation to celebrate what makes us unique and what makes us the same. Join me as I sit down to chat with the remarkable people I meet during my travels throughout the USA.

Episode 5 - Maggie in Oneida, Kentucky | Community Supported Agriculture, Sustainable Farming, Rotational Grazing, Dung Beetles

In this episode, I chat with my friend Maggie. She is a vegetable farmer at Old Homeplace Farm in Oneida, Kentucky. We talk about what she and her family grow at their farm, what a CSA is, as well as the joys and challenges of growing food for the community. She shares stories of her childhood growing up in a vegetable farm in Ohio and tales about dung beetles and snakes. We also touch on rotational grazing and silvopasture. You can find Maggie at https://www.oldhomeplacefarm.com/ and https://www.instagram.com/oldhomeplacefarm/. She delivers produce to the following counties: Clay, Laurel, Whitley, Leslie and Perry.

I'll be posting photos of Maggie's farm later this evening at https://wildflower.cloud/category/journal/.

Our song of the week is With A Little Help From My Friends by The Beatles. You can search for it on Spotify or your favorite music player. On YouTube, it's at https://youtu.be/0C58ttB2-Qg.
