In this episode, I share my conversation with Will Bowling of Old Homeplace Farm in Oneida, Kentucky. Will is a wildlife biologist, conservationist and grass farmer. We talk about the history of elk and subsistence farming in Southeastern Kentucky, the restoration and return of wildlife in this region, the incredible benefits of raising ruminants (cows, goats and sheep) and pigs on pasture, intensive rotational grazing, silvopasture (growing trees in pasture for shade, synergy and abundance), and how they manage their livestock in the winter months. Working with nature to create more ease, flow and abundance is one of my favorite things to talk about or listen to! Hearing about regenerating and building soil through holistic management of land is something that makes my heart happy. I very much enjoyed this conversation; I learned a lot and I know you will too.
Old Homeplace Farm is now open for sign-ups to the summer season of their CSA (or vegetable subscription service!) and they’ve just added a bunch of fresh veggies to their online store. If you live in the area I would highly recommend checking them out. Support your local farmers! The book I mentioned is “The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals” by Michael Pollan. I highly recommend this book, it’s simply brilliant! One of the best introductory books you could read on the topic of permaculture and slow food.
Song of the week.. I thought it might be fun to have some bluegrass - let’s do Kentucky Borderline by Rhonda Vincent. On YouTube it’s at https://youtu.be/KJAjyQ4keuY

The End of Covid
This event is on June 20. Mark your calendars!
https://wildflower.cloud/links/
The end of covid is exactly what it sounds like. For the first time ever, we’re coming together to educate the public on a mass scale about everything that’s transpired over the past 3 years. And so much more. With 88 sessions, The End of Covid will cover everything from electron microscopy to masks. We’re going all the way back to the origins of the germ theory of disease, and touching on every so-called “pandemic” up to the present. Exposing the granular details of these concepts to the masses is the only way we can put an end to this fictional reality show once and for all. Finally, on June 20th, the show is over.
Much love to you all!
