Harvard Campus Update: Course Deadlines, Concentration Declarations, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Sports, and Events for Oct 6-13
Hey Harvard University students, it's Jenny with your Campus Update for October 6 through October 13. Let's get you set for the week—fast. First up—Monday, October 6, marks the fifth Monday of the fall term, which is the deadline to add or drop courses. Next, on Friday, October 10, third-semester students must declare their concentration. Finally, Monday, October 13, is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, observed in Cambridge. Over the weekend, the Harvard women's soccer team faced Cornell in a Breast Cancer Awareness Game on Sunday, October 13, at 1 p.m. Later that evening, the men's water polo team took on MIT at 7 p.m. Looking ahead, the women's soccer team is gearing up for their next match against Princeton on Saturday, October 18. Be sure to check the athletics website for the latest updates and support our Crimson teams! On Wednesday, October 8, at noon, the Radcliffe Institute is hosting a virtual presentation titled "Chaotic Systems, Prime Numbers, and Complexity: The Beauty and Power of Mathematics." It's a great opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of math. Also, the "Sea Monsters: Wonders of Nature and Imagination" exhibition is ongoing at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Explore the myths and realities of sea creatures—perfect for a weekend visit. For a quick bite, check out the food trucks parked along Oxford Street. They offer a variety of cuisines to satisfy your midday cravings. This week in Cambridge, expect mild temperatures with a mix of sun and clouds. There's a chance of showers midweek, so keep an umbrella handy. Cooler evenings are on the horizon, so layering up is a smart move. Your move: If you're a third-semester student, declare your concentration by Friday, October 10. Don't miss this important deadline! That's your quick Campus Update. I'm Jenny—catch you next Monday morning. Tap follow on your podcast app so you never miss a beat.
