Harvard Campus Update: Finals, Arts Fest Deadline, Basketball Victory & Events (Dec 8–15)
Hey Harvard University students, it's Jenny with your Campus Update for December 8 through December 15. Let's get you set for the week—fast. First up—Reading Period wraps up on Tuesday, December 9, so make the most of these final study days. Next—Final exams kick off on Wednesday, December 10, and run through Friday, December 19. Check your exam schedule and locations to avoid any last-minute surprises. And—Monday, December 8, is the last day to apply to perform at the 2026 Arts Fest Performance Fair. If you've got talent to share, don't miss this opportunity. Over the weekend, the Harvard women's basketball team clinched their first Ivy League title at the 2025 Ivy League Women's Basketball Tournament. A standout performance by Harmoni Turner earned her the tournament MVP. Looking ahead, the team is gearing up for the NCAA Tournament—stay tuned for game schedules and support our Crimson! On Monday, December 8, at 4:00 PM, the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations is hosting a talk titled "How Matter Matters: Material Culture, Sabbath Lamps, and the Making of Rabbinic Judaism" by Gregg Gardner. It's a great chance to delve into fascinating historical insights. Also on Monday, December 8, at 6:00 PM, The Comedy Studio is hosting "Monday’s Pages – Open Reading," a weekly cold-reading series where actors and writers present new, dialogue-driven material. It's a fantastic opportunity to experience fresh performances and support fellow students. For a quick study break, check out the "Castaway: The Afterlife of Plastic" exhibition at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. It's open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM and offers a thought-provoking look at environmental issues. This week in Cambridge, expect chilly temperatures with highs ranging from the mid-20s to low 40s Fahrenheit. Wednesday brings a chance of afternoon rain, so pack an umbrella if you're heading out. Saturday might see a bit of afternoon snow, so plan accordingly. Your move: If you're planning to perform at the 2026 Arts Fest Performance Fair, submit your application by Monday, December 8. Don't miss this chance to showcase your talent! That's your quick Campus Update. I'm Jenny—catch you next Monday morning. Tap follow on your podcast app so you never miss a beat.
