On this episode Jason spoke to Ciaran Byrne.
At just 30 years old, Ciaran had already survived three heart attacks. Then came the diagnosis of blood cancer requiring daily chemotherapy—and most recently, multilevel degenerative disc disease. But Ciaran’s story is about far more than the relentless challenges to his body; it’s about the resilience of his spirit.
Born in County Louth into a family of car enthusiasts, Ciaran grew up in his father’s crash repair garage, learning the craft of restoration alongside his older brother. Those early days shaped him—but so did profound loss. After the death of his best friend and later his grandmother, the woman he credits as the source of his strength, Ciaran spiraled into a darkness that led to suicide attempts. Surviving them convinced him he was still here for a reason.
Today, despite ongoing health battles and the weight of depression, Ciaran is rebuilding more than cars—he’s rebuilding himself. With a growing online presence and a return to the hands-on passion of his youth, he shares a powerful message of perseverance, purpose, and hope.
This episode dives deep into Ciaran’s journey: the diagnoses, the grief, the grit, and the unbreakable resilience that keeps him moving forward.
