We are continuing our series of interviews highlighting some of our Oklahoma State Legislators and the work, advocacy, policy collaboration, and/or learning they are doing for Oklahomans with disabilities.
This week, we welcome Representative Ellyn Hefner!
Representative Hefner represents Oklahoma State House District 87. Her name may sound very familiar and that is because she was featured in the last year for passing several pieces of legislation serving people with disabilities as well as her participation in a Taskforce to eliminate 14(c) Waivers! She is an incredible advocate for people who live with disabilities, amplifying their voices, advocating for their rights and needs, inclusive education, and inclusive employment/fair wages.
Representative Hefner joins us to share her journey from advocacy to the legislature, her deeply personal connection to her service, the work she has accomplished so far in the legislature, bills and initiatives serving people with disabilities, the legacy she hopes to leave during her service, and more!
You don’t want to miss this series!
