The HOME hosts chatted about the "Christmas craziness," mentioning stuff like slow mail and higher shipping costs, and suggested everyone shop local. For holiday home décor, they pitched fun ideas like a black Christmas tree and using live plants.
Russ Jackson and Whitney Wigglesworth from Southern Air dropped some winterizing tips. They said to unhook outside hoses, shut off the isolation valves for the hose spigots, and if you're taking a long trip, maybe turn off the main water and the electric water heater's breaker. They also loved water sensor pucks and smart systems for catching leaks and gave a shout-out to tankless water heaters for being super-efficient, adding that Southern Air can help with financing, tax credits, and rebates.
Anthony Markham and Aine Aylward from Piedmont Floor Show dished out kitchen reno advice. Anthony's all about replacing old cabinets instead of just refacing them to get that modern functionality. Aine pointed out that design-wise, people are moving past super-stark white cabinets to softer off-whites, earth tones, deeper greens, and darker woods, often mixing and matching colors or wood finishes on the cabinets and islands. Quartz is still a hit, but granite is making a comeback for countertops.
The HOME Show is presented by Piedmont Floor Show, found online at PiedmontFloorShow.com or at their beautiful Timberlake Road showroom.
