
Folorunso Alakija (born July 15, 1951, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian billionaire businesswoman, fashion designer, philanthropist, and Christian leader.
She began her career as a secretary in banking, later studied fashion in London, and founded Supreme Stitches (now The Rose of Sharon House of Fashion), becoming one of Nigeria’s top designers.
In 1993, she ventured into oil by founding Famfa Oil Limited, which owns a significant stake in the Agbami Oil Field, one of Nigeria’s largest deep-water oil discoveries.
She also runs printing and real estate companies and leads the Rose of Sharon Foundation, which supports widows and orphans through education and business grants.
Married to Modupe Alakija with four sons, she serves as Chancellor of Osun State University and is recognized as one of Africa’s richest and most influential women.
