115 Stephanie Webb - The innocence of vanilla
Stephanie Webb CA is an Herbalist, Clinical Aromatherapist, and educator working as a botanical formulator and sourcing agent. In this episode, Stephanie talks about the little-known world of a sourcing agent and her remarkable undertaking to bring Vanilla plants, agriculture, and processing to Florida. Through sourcing challenges, she learned about the struggles and complications in the vanilla extract business and has started a domestically grown in Florida vanilla initiative. Where she is connecting with Florida farmers to grow vanilla plantifolia.

After many years of research and training, she is now teaching Aromatherapy courses across the country and online, in hopes of sharing her knowledge with others interested in integrative healthcare and wellness. She has taught regularly with the local Residency program as well as regional training for Pharmacists. Her wish is to combine her knowledge and experiences and help everyone she educates to be more comfortable with their health and teach about options we have in healthcare today using plant medicine.

After attaining her BFA degree in Art and design Stephanie Webb started her career as an art teacher at the American School of London in 1998. When arriving back, her love of plants translated into design work for her company. She was a guest on the "Martha Stewart Show" and has been acknowledged in several publications such as Vogue for her work as a Mom Entrepreneur. Plants have always been the center of her focus. After closing her retail company in 2006 and having her daughters, Stephanie became interested in the medicinal aspect of Essential Oils and studied Herbalism due to the desire to have the knowledge of how to treat her children safely and naturally. Living on a small farm and treating her family naturally was essential, and finding natural solutions due to severe reactions to antibiotics inspired her to dive deep into plant medicine.
