Anne-Marie Moyes - overturning wrongful convictions and advocating for criminal justice reform
Anne-Marie Moyes is the Director of the Korey Wise Innocence Project out of the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she also teaches classes about wrongful convictions.
The Korey Wise Innocence Project is a non-profit that helps prisoners who were wrongfully convicted to achieve exoneration through the legal system. The organization also advocates for policy reform at the State level.
In our conversation, we talk about the issues with forensic evidence and our general misconceptions about their credibility, how wrongful convictions are obtained, repercussions against prosecutors and police mishandling of cases, the administrative and legal obstacles in achieving exonerations, what effective policy reforms we should aspire to, and more.
