Starting out from a simple Facebook post that went viral, it grew into an international movement of 50,000 women in 50 countries in the space of 18 months. HerStory is the brainchild of Getrude Matshe, an African storyteller, filmmaker, poet, artist, author, and TEDx speaker. In this conversation, she shares the ethos around the movement, the impact she wants to make in the world with it, and the empowerment that it has already given to tons of women around the world. She also shares how her African upbringing shaped her worldview and how she thinks those will help her instigate the change she wants to see in the world.
