The Michael Calderin Show with special guest, Award Winning Journalist Lori Lizarraga, author of "LatinXed"

Lori Lizarraga is an Ecuadorian-Mexican-American journalist from Texas and a  Murrow and Emmy-award winning international  reporter. With 5 years in the industry, Lizarraga has worked in  newsrooms in Texas, California ,Colorado, and Pennsylvania, specializing  in race, culture, and social justice reporting. The 27-year-old gained  national attention last year with her piece, "LatinXed," chronicling  her experience as a journalist of color in news. That reporting  forced new standards of immigration coverage at more than 60 TV stations  across the country and has been recognized by the National Association  of Hispanic Journalists, The ACLU, the U.S. Hispanic  Chamber of Commerce, and national news outlets like NPR and Futuro  Media for her 'outstanding work to further the civil rights and  liberties of Coloradans and Latinos across the country.' Today, she  continues that work as a speaker, guest lecturer, and advocate  for journalists of color and the communities they represent. Follow her at: www.lorilizarraga.com
