On today’s episode of The Newsroom, DOB Energy reporter Josh Skapin interviews Avik Dey.
Dey is the president and CEO of Capital Power.
The company is a power producer with about 12 GW of power generation at 32 facilities across North America. This includes the Genesee generating station located west of Edmonton, where Capital Power is headquartered.
Dey has more than two decades of experience in the global energy and resources sector, including major institutions such as CPP Investments and the Carlyle Group.
We talk to Dey about three pressing issues: Capturing the AI data centre opportunity in Alberta, making carbon capture projects economic, and why he sees promise insmall modular nuclear reactors, or SMRs.
