With 525 pieces of anti-transgender legislation being proposed across 49 states, Zooey Zephyr a trans legislator in the state of Montana being censured during a debate over one of these pieces of legislation, and many restrictive book bans and laws being successfully passed across states, it's a very difficult time to be trans. We talk today with a trans student, Winter Cline, and with our trans host Rosemary Cromwell about the difficulties that trans students face at Carrillo and in schools in general and what we can do to make life easier on them.
*NOTE*
Within the episode the host and guest will have very direct discussions over data from a private, anonymous survey that was sent around to staff. The only person with access to the original responses is our guest and the creator of the survey, Winter Cline. Our host, Rosemary Cromwell, had access to a copy of the data without any names or identifying information present. Within the episode, responses are not directly quoted and instead are paraphrased to ensure anonymity.
