Happy New Year! Here’s hoping and trusting that 2025 ended well for you, and that 2026 begins even “well-er!” Some of you may have the habit of making resolutions, and others may not. But may I suggest that we resolve to make Romans 12:12 a part of our daily habits as we allow the Holy Spirit to fill us and sanctify us more and more. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

We’ve all heard the saying, “20% of the church does 80% of the work.” While, unfortunately, I can’t necessarily argue that statement, I wonder if the source of that statement could be linked to the number of people who simply and sadly do not know their spiritual gift. It is clear in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians — and to us — that each believer has at least one spiritual gift given to us by the Holy Spirit. Oh, how effective the Church of Jesus Christ might be if every believer actually manifested their gift!
