Dr. Omowunmi Sadik is a Distinguished Professor and Director of The BioSMART Center at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Her research primarily focuses on the development of innovative bioanalytical sensor technologies aimed at improving human health and environmental safety. Specifically, her work involves:
š§Ŗ Understanding Interfaces: Dr. Sadik's group investigates the electrochemical interfaces, which are critical for the functioning of biosensors.
š¬ Biosensors and Nanostructured Membranes: She has made significant contributions to the field of biosensors, holding five patents related to this area. Her research emphasizes the creation of sensors that can detect and identify engineered nanoparticles, which are increasingly relevant due to their potential environmental and health impacts.
