And despite the fact that tidal and wave energy have been around for a lot longer, they have remained below the mainstream radar. Until now, says commercial director of Leask Marine John Macleod, who believes it could deliver as much as 20% of the UK’s electricity needs by 2030. He spoke to Maritime Journal about an industry that he believes is on the cusp of making real waves.
