Payam is an Iranian man who is twice exceptional (2E), experiencing giftedness in combination with ADHD and Autism. He is passionate about his field of Natural Language Processing, yet for the past years, he’s experienced severe delays with his MA degree. Overthinking, anxiety, and perfectionism keep slowing him down, and assignment deadlines frequently lead to panic attacks.
In this episode we explore the source of his perfectionism, tracing its origin back through time. We stumble upon a deeply engrained belief Payam holds about himself: ‘I cannot do it because I am challenged…’
I help Payam understand the cost of his perfectionism, not just for himself but also for his field, and ultimately, for the entire world. For the sake of the impact his contributions can make, he needs to get out of his own way. This very insight leads to an emotional break-through that I invite you to witness.
