I should have given them what they wanted. Instead they broke my life apart, stripping away the only good I had left in it. My team, Tristan, now Adrian? And worst of all, to me anyway, the things I’m learning about Tristan tell me I never really knew the man I fell in love with.
I’ve never felt more alone and I know the cost will be heavy if I give them what they’re after. But maybe those monsters will take this burden from me and leave like they promised. Maybe it won’t be so bad.
Maybe...it’s for the best.
