“Behind every myth lies an allegory, and behind every allegory , ... a truth.” The Traveller of Myths is not another retelling of Greek mythology. It is a journey guided by a restless rebel who refuses to treat myths as fairy tales or dusty academic notes. Instead, he searches for the allegories behind the verses of Homer, Hesiod, and the tragic poets, without ever destroying the magic of the plot. Here, Odysseus is more than a wanderer: he is exile and identity. Achilles’s rage is pride and blindness. The gods of Hesiod are chaos and order, creation and destruction...

2/02. Lysimeles Eros, the Bronze Race, and the Kingdom of Hades

In this episode, the “Traveller” welcomes the new collaborator of the series, Kassandra Peisistrati - archaeologist and researcher - who takes the place of Aristea.
With humour, a literary tone, and philosophical detours, the Traveller leads us on a double journey:

First to Olympus, where he explores the nature of “Eros the Loosener-of-Limbs” in relation to that of Eros Phanes, the “designs” of Zeus for a new generation of gods, and the “construction” of a new race of mortals, the Bronze Race.

Then, to the realm of Hades, where the narrator describes and attempts to interpret the “underworld” allegorically. Inspired by Socrates, Kazantzakis, and Camus, he examines the relationship between death, philosophy, and awareness, while unfolding images of the Acheron, Charon, Cerberus, Lethe, and Mnemosyne.

Between gods, myths, and subterranean kingdoms, the episode blends mythology, humour, philosophy, and allegory into a captivating narrative through which the second cycle of our mythological journeys continues, under the title Odyssey in the Ocean of Allegories , The Gods of Olympus, the Gods of the Mortals.

Do not miss what the microphones captured after the closing credits.
