DDD: The Path of Peace: Justice, Mercy, and Humility
A Devotion for your drive into work:
If true peace combines truth, justice, and mercy, how might your civic actions or personal choices change if you walked the narrow path Jesus taught, rather than following the crowd or simply faking peace?
Drawing from Romans 3:17, Micah 6:8, Proverbs 4, and Matthew 7, Pastor Brian distinguishes “peacemakers” from peace-fakers and peace-breakers: the former embody divine reality by blending truth, justice, mercy, and humility—while the latter settle for conflict avoidance or outright strife. The devotional urges believers in both private and public life not to follow society’s broad, popular road (false peace, compromise), but to daily seek and walk the narrow path illuminated by God’s Word. This requires honest self-examination, bearing good fruit, loving God and neighbor deeply, and showing courage and compassion even when unpopular. The closing prayer asks God to help every listener reveal His character and truth with grace, advocating for justice, mercy, and gospel peace in a tumultuous world.
