In the Season 3 opener, we get a glimpse into the Russian military effort to access a gate into the Upside Down. Then we are one year into the future with the kids where Dustin is returning from summer camp, Steve and Robin are working at an ice cream shop at the mall, and Nancy is working at the town paper. Also, Hopper is struggling with Mike and El making out at his house all the time and attempts to have a heart to heart with them. Meanwhile, Will senses something is wrong again and we see Billy get dragged down a staircase.
