Checks Over Strikes is a community based initiative set out to change the narrative of financial literacy amongst members of marginalized communities. Their book "Don't be a Waste Yute" has commonly used Torontonian and Caribbean vernacular to make the content relevant and relatable. The book is geared towards the youth but it can be applied to anyone 13 and older.

Checks Over Strikes not only has a book but online courses to meet you where you're at financially. Their goal is to lift up community members with an each one teach one mentality to better their relationship and management with money.

Their motto is Checks in your name, no strikes against it!
