Welcome to the world of the Witcher! Geralt journeys to Blaviken where he meets Renfri and the mysterious Stregobar who wishes to kill Renfri. Stregobar tells Geralt of The Curse of the Black Sun where a woman, Lililt, cursed females born at a certain time. Renfri is allegedly one of these children. Stregobar claims Renfri killed his men in the woods, and that she needs to die. After time together alone, Renfri convinces Geralt that there are more than two sides of the story, and Geralt seemingly convinces her to leave Blaviken instead of seek revenge on Stregobar. Renfri and Geralt sleep together and then, the next day, Geralt has a vision of Renfri telling him that "the girl in the woods" is his destiny, and she foretells what will happen in the square the next day. Geralt wakes and rushes to find Renfri in the square. She's ready to kill in order to get to her target (Stregobar). Renfri's death yields Stregobar's decision to gut Renfri and inspect her brain for her powers, but Geralt refuses to concede. Stregobar ends up convincing the people to banish Geralt and never return to Blaviken. Meanwhile, Queen Calanthe of Cintra ends up losing her kingdom to the NIlfgards. She tells her granddaughter, Princess Cirilla, to leave and head for the woods in order to find Geralt of Rivia--her destiny. The princess flees and discovers she's been protected her entire life because she's got special powers. As she heads into the woods, she screeches and splits the ground around her.
