In this episode Joy and Laura break down season 4 episode 17 “It’s A Terrible Life”. Dean wakes up as Dean Smith, a corporate executive at Sandover Bridge & Iron Company, while Sam is Sam Wesson, a tech support worker at the same firm. Neither of them remembers their real lives as hunters. They have to team up to fight a ghost who is haunting the building and killing their colleagues.
We discuss how Dean is channeling Patrick Bateman and Sam is channeling Scooby Doo this episode; how we feel about the Ghostfacers this time; all of the gruesome deaths that happen; and how this episode is a much needed breather in what has been a dark season overall so far.
We also discuss our fear of lifts/elevators and what would be the better option if we found ourselves in a faulty lift that was about to drop; the ghost’s electric fingers; and how Zachariah actually has a good point at the end of the episode.
Joy’s Easter eggs are about the links between the number 1444 and real deaths; the “Hound of the Baskervilles effect”; and an instance where a ghost reportedly killed someone.
