Changing Course Episode 9: A podcast about how I leaned from two amazing Black women on a podcast
And I learned that Dr. Akilah Cadet https://instagram.com/changecadet?igshid=1pmwrtyy6danv pronounces her name “Kah-day” the French way (which is a good way to remember it rhymes wirh way. And was blown away by her conversation with Adrienne Kimball of The Melanated Soul. https://instagram.com/adrienne_kimball?igshid=i16ji1xnay2b. They are both Amazing Gifted Poweful Talented Black women who I feel privileged to listen and learn from on The Change Cadet podcast June 5 2020 Episode 18: For White Women. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/change-cadet-podcast/id1473986745?i=1000477206318. I am indeed a white woman who learned lots of ugly stuff about white women (very significant role as slave owners) and the legacy of power and privilege that leads straight to Amy Cooper and how a bit more powerlessness could serve us well and not in the way you might think. And so much about how I and we can be better. I probably talked about some other stuff I learned from other rad black women this week who I’ve mentioned in previous episodes and I got amplified. I am just getting started. Please listen to The Change Cadet podcast yourself very intently and so openly and join me on this journey to “Wake Up, Grow Up, and Show Up.” Those are Adrienne Kimball’s powerful, crystal clear, and memorable words. I’ll keep it Yay and try not to be exhausting. #allyship #antiracism #wakeup #growup #showup #antiracist #blacklivesmatter #amplifyblackvoices #anplifymelanatedvoices #strongblackwomenteachmesomuch #gratitude #wakeupandsayyay
