I sit down with Maz, a Black, Queer, Non-binary, Muslim, Autistic individual, to explore their powerful journey of identity discovery. Maz shares what it was like growing up in Saudi Arabia, navigating cultural norms, and managing the complex dynamics within their family, especially their parent’s reaction to their queerness. We talk about the intersections of race, gender, culture, religion and neurodivergence, and how these layers have shaped Maz’s mental health and sense of self.
