Cy, from Hong Kong, share his story and perspective of experiencing life-changing adventure. Hear a snapshot of his life, what inspires him to explore more, how he engages with others, and why he believes it is important to embrace global cultures.
After spending over 20 years in the corporate world, Cy of @breakingcycles found himself searching for deeper meaning in everyday life. Although he didn’t dislike his job or the people he worked with, Cy always felt that something was missing. The highlight of each year became using his annual leave to escape routine, and he felt as though the artist within him was slowly fading away.
Yearning for a more authentic and fulfilling existence, Cy realized he wanted more than just following what society expected. In early 2024, he took a six-month sabbatical. Four months into this break, Cy made the bold decision to quit his job and fully commit to a new path. Since July 2024, he has been traveling, choosing to experience life as a true traveler rather than simply ticking boxes or escaping from it. Discover more of his adventures and updates on Instagram.
