
Polycystic ovary (ovarian) syndrome (PCOS) is that the commonest hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age (the time from when a woman’s periods begin to once they stop at menopause). It affects 8-13% of girls – about one in 10 – during this age bracket, and may affect more in some high-risk groups, like Indigenous, Asian, North African, and Caucasian European women.
