Welcome to Day 38 of The Returning Daughter 40-Day Fast. Today we continue reflecting on Luke 15:20 — the story of the prodigal son — and the truth that even when we feel far from God, His love never leaves us. In this devotion, we’re reminded that God still sees us from a distance, still runs toward us, and still restores our identity, authority, and belonging.
As we near the end of this fast, we pause to dismantle the lie that God has left us. Even in silence, He is watching. Even in struggle, He is near. His mercy is immediate, His presence unchanging, and His justice sure.
In this devotion we will reflect on:
How God’s mercy and grace meet us in our return
Why His presence is unchanging even in hard seasons
How to stay grounded in truth when feelings waver
Reflection Question:
What truth about God’s character do you need to hold onto today to remind yourself that He is still with you?
