México Evalúa analyzes Nuevo León's potential for nearshoring, despite its significant economic growth and attraction of foreign investment. The study "Breaking Barriers! How to Spark Investment in Mexico: The Case of Nuevo León" identified 417 opportunities for regulatory improvement, primarily in government efficiency, that could attract even more investment. Simplifying procedures, digitizing processes, and harmonizing regulations are key recommended actions for Nuevo León to maximize its position as an industrial hub in Mexico. Despite identifying areas for improvement, the study concludes that state regulations for attracting investment are aligned with international agreements.
