On Wednesday, November 26th, at approximately 2:15 p.m., two West Virginia National Guard members were targeted in an ambush-style attack near the White House. The incident occurred in a bustling area of Washington D.C., specifically at 17th and I Street Northwest, close to the Farragut Metro stop. Officials have confirmed that the attack was deliberate. The two Guard members, a man and a woman, were actively engaged in "high visibility patrols" when a lone gunman emerged from around a corner and opened fire instantly, without any warning, turning a routine patrol into a violent confrontation.
