With the help of my friends (some of whom actually know what they're talking about!), I explore a freaking cornucopia of stuff: the basic stuff, the fun stuff, the past stuff, the future stuff, and all the stuff in between...in my quest to burn bright in the forests of the night.

Episode VI - On Being a Black Woman in America

It's the end of Black History Month and the beginning of Women’s history month here in the U.S. March also includes my birthday and my wedding anniversary, which happens to fall on International Women’s Day. To commemorate both Black History Month and Women's History Month, I did an episode I’ve titled "On Being a Black Woman in America." My friends and I discuss our different experiences and similarities. Interestingly, the feel of our conversation is much different from that of the one I had with my black male educator friends—and I’ll let you hear our stories and decide if one of the major common factors in our lives has anything to do with that. Please note, we recorded this episode in December of 2020 before the electoral college votes were finalized. Here we go..
