Our guest for the first episode of Ubuntu Narratives podcast is Deborah Iyute, a person living with disability, working as a program officer at National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) for over 7 years. Deborah joined us with her sign interpreter, Sarah Ogirot for an enlightening conversation on success stories of employers that have built disability inclusive workplaces with the help of NUDIPU and its partners.
The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) is one of the oldest indigenous umbrella NGOs of Persons with Disabilities, formed on 14th November 1987. NUDIPU brings together all categories of disabilities including the physical, sensory, intellectual, and mental impairments, and advocates for PWD rights and their inclusion in mainstream development processes.
