In October of 1974, Wyoming hunter Carl Higdon walked into Medicine Bow National Forest looking for elk and came out with a story that’s been haunting UFO researchers ever since. Five elk stood in front of him frozen, his bullet went slow-mo through the air like it hit Jell-O, and out of the woods stepped a bow-legged, chinless being with tool-hands and a star-shaped badge. He called himself Ausso One, handed Carl a hunger-killing “food cube,” and invited him aboard a transparent craft where elk and human were cargo.
