Welcome to join the Uncertain Pathfinders (UP) podcast where we ask listeners, hosts, and guests to invite Uncertainty and unlock possibilities. On this episode, co-hosts Jeffrey Schwab and Miranda Wang are joined in the studio by Monika Hung. Currently an international communication MA student, Monika describes herself as a Storyteller of Collective Healing and Inner Transformation.
She is the creator and advocator of Healing Journalism—an inward-turning journalistic approach dedicated to collective healing. Drawing from years of personal experience navigating her own trauma and working closely within newsrooms, she develops this trauma-informed lens with a spirit of poetic softness and compassionate inquiry, tailored for an era marked by existential uncertainty and global disarray.
On this episode Monika explains how her own journey and reckoning with trauma brought her to this mission of Healing Journalism. Through chance encounters and serendipity, Monika continues to make connections with those around her, including some of the movers and shakers in the world of journalism. Monika shares how she balances past trauma with her steadfast mission to bring journalism to a positive light and a life of service and compassion.
