Durane West

Durane West is a storyteller by nature, he writes poetry to unpack his own journey for others.

A world through his lens looks like many things: seasons changing, nature and its relationship to human life, personification, black self-discovery, and healing to name a few.

West’s favorite part of the writing process is the first draft. “The way I bleed onto the paper feels different."

He has been published by 826 Boston, the Max Warburg Courage Curriculum, and was selected by the City of Boston to record for the 2021 Roxbury Poetry Festival *. (Can go behind “a world through his lens”)
