Miami, on the other hand, climbed to thirteen after a victory over Virginia Tech. Georgia Tech suffered a significant drop, falling from fifteen to twenty-three, following a loss to Pitt. Pitt and SMU entered the rankings at twenty-four and twenty-five, respectively, replacing Houston. The poll largely aligned with the US LBM Coaches Poll, except for Georgia Tech, which was ranked four spots higher by the coaches.
