UP Vargas Museum’s podcast, Vargas on Air, uploads its second episode with an essay on Felix
Resurreccion Hidalgo’s oil painting titled “Marina (Seascape),” written by Ryan Reyes with a
reflection by work-from-home intern Stefani Ursua on Hidalgo’s work in the context of the
Philippines and the Filipinos in the 19th century. Reyes writes on Hidalgo’s painting, which is part of
the Vargas Museum permanent art collection, on view in the museum’s 2/F Main Gallery. The text is
part of the museum’s latest publication, The Vargas Collection: Art and Filipiniana.
