On this episode of Vibe New Mexico we take a look behind the art of folklorico dance with Renee Roybal. Renee talks about her 20 years teaching dance to hundreds and hundreds of young girls through the years, and her influences. Renee talks about how her dancing career began, dancing with Los Matachines in El Rancho New Mexico at a young age. She explains the art and precision of dance, her inspirations through music and how dance is used in celebration, and continues to be used today. Renee has also accompanied many artists and been a part of large and prestigious performances. Today Renee leads a large group of young ladies with her dance group, "Baile Illusion" where she continues to inspire, teach and dedicate countless hours mentoring and sharing her talents to guiding other young women in the art of traditional dance and keeping it alive.
