Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we watched an Oscar worthy classic, Moonstruck. This 1987 movie landed Cher her one and only Oscar, along with queen Olympia Dukakis for best supporting actress, and screen writer John Patrick Shanley for best original screenplay. This supposed romantic comedy casts a young Nicolas Cage - at the beginning of his career - as the tortured love interest. Which was definitely a choice people made… Moonstruck has all of the things we usually love, thick Italian-American Brooklyn accents, hand-talking, and Cher serving face. Despite the romance leaving us wanting, we had a lot of fun talking about this movie and we hope you have fun listening!
