Dear Listeners!
As a social entrepreneur Gijs is working and living in India, Auroville. Gijs was 18 when he first went to India and that experience influenced him for the rest of his life. First he studied organic agriculture and fairtrade at Wageningen University. And after his graduation he returned to India where he spent the last 15 years. Eight years ago he joined Auroville which is an experimental township in India and since then he lives and works there helping to develop education and social entrepreneurship initiatives.
Gijs and many Aurovillians are from Europe and air travelling has a huge negative impact nowadays. Therefore Gijs' new challenge is to create a green corridor on land that is more environmentally friendly and allows travellers to learn and exchange while travelling.
