Episode 151 | How to Get Out of an Abusive Relationship, featuring Erica Zendejas
Trigger warning: This episode mentions acts of domestic violence. Listener discretion is advised. Erica Zendejas is a single mom of 2 who works in the veterinary profession. Recently, she started a podcast, Oquela Podcast, with her sister, Nicole. Through that journey, Erica has met so many amazing people, one of them being the host of Watch Us Thrive. She received so much positive feedback from that episode that she felt inspired to share her story and advocate for those who have faced similar challenges of being a survivor of domestic abuse. In this week’s episode, Erica, a domestic violence survivor still co-parenting with her abuser, bravely shares her story. She opens up about the challenges of setting boundaries and highlights the importance of speaking up and raising awareness. Erica talks about her ongoing healing journey and the lessons she’s learned about trusting your gut, seeking support, and putting your own happiness first. She also reminds us how powerful it is to be true to yourself and embrace who you are. *Note: If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please know that help is available. Call the 24/7 National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for confidential support. Looking for support on your healing journey from toxic relationships?
