The WIRED Podcast: Dr. Madison Wulfeck, M.D.

Dr. Madison Wulfeck is a fellowship-trained cardiothoracic radiologist, board-certified in diagnostic radiology with additional specialization in nuclear medicine. She holds a Master of Business Administration, is a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), and a NIOSH B-reader, bringing together an exceptional blend of clinical expertise, informatics insight, and interpretive precision.

Currently, Dr. Wulfeck hosts the podcast Contrast and Clarity through the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR). In this bi-weekly podcast, she explores cutting-edge innovations, career development, and the critical issues shaping the future of radiology. Her contributions to the field have been widely recognized. She was named to the Radiology Business Forty Under 40 Class of 2024, honoring rising leaders driving change in imaging and patient care. She’s also a 2024 Hillman Fellow in Scholarly Publishing for the JACR, a recipient of the ACR Quality and Patient Safety Award. She serves as Chair of the Young and Early-Career Professional Section for the Florida Radiological Society. Additionally, she holds a national leadership role as the Liaison between the ACR's Young Professional Section and Resident/Fellow Section. Dr. Wulfeck completed her medical school and radiology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging at Duke University. She now practices remotely from Charleston, SC, with Radiology Associates of South Florida, where she balances high-level academic engagement with day-to-day clinical excellence.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wulfeck is a passionate mentor, a strong advocate for innovation in radiology, and a firm believer in advancing patient care through imaging excellence. When she’s not reading scans or recording her podcast, you’ll likely find her cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team. During the off-season, she’s often editing new podcast episodes from her home office. We’re excited to dive into her journey, her insights on radiology’s future, and how informatics is reshaping modern imaging practice.
